Pro-ISIS Group Defaces Websites Team System DZ

The hacker group, Team System DZ (based in Algeria), started posting links to hacked websites on it's Facebook page. By the end of the weekend, it had quite an interesting collection.
The group defaced over 80 websites, while leaving pro-ISIS messages on the front page of the websites along with a personalized logo. Although most of the messages were quickly removed and repaired. They even attacked government websites for Richland County in Wisconsin. Strangely, this is the THIRD time that they have attacked Richland County, which leads to speculation of a common configuration flaw. Most of the sites were running wordpress with a multi-site function, meaning if one was breached all of them were breached.
This time the hackers defaced the websites for Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Fairgrounds, Parks Commission, Land Conservation, Ambulance Service, and the central Richland County government portal.
While the group had previously said it's affiliated with the legendary hacker group Anonymous, the hashtags the group used were  #OpUSA, #OpIl, #OpRu, #OpFr, and #OpIr. This action seems to be a direct answer to Anonymous' #OpISIS campaign.

A full list of compromised websites along with mirrors can be found here. As it looks right now, the hackers aren't skilled enough to carry out other types of attacks except defacements, since there was no mention during the first two intrusions of any data leaks on the Dark Web.

The war with ISIS and other extremist groups will be fought on the battlefields in distant lands as well as in our homes, on US soil by way of social media and the Internet. It is imperative that the US provide necessary funds, training, and personnel to address these cyber threats and stop them. Many so called "homegrown terrorists," are endocrinated and recruited via these social media and websites and this needs to be stopped.
