Spring forward with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) during National Flood Awareness Week beginning March 15 – 19, 2010. NOAA provides news and information regarding the 2010 U.S. spring flood predictions; flood awareness information; and tips to protect your family, home, and business during the flood season.

We’d also like to highlight some useful new tools to help you and your organization better prepare for floods.

  • A new, interactive mapping tool lets you see flood history from all across the nation, right down to the county level, with data regarding past floods and their causes.  As you will see based on information from NOAA/National Weather Service, floods can and do affect nearly every place in the United States. • A risk map update schedule shows, by ZIPcode, when your flood map was last updated, when it will become effective, etc. Click here for the risk map.
