Nick Bacon is Chair Emeritus of the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security. Bacon, a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, is the civilian aide to the Secretary of the U.S. Army and former director of the Arkansas Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Bacon is also the immediate past president of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

Bacon has held a successful career of dedicated military and public service. He served in the United States Army for 21 years and received numerous awards and decorations in honor of his service, including the Distinguished Service Cross, Legion of Merit Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, and Purple Heart.

Bacon received an extensive education with the U.S. military, having attended the First Sergeant Academy, Non-Commissioned Officers Academy, Military Police Customs School, Counter-Terrorism School, U.S. Army Recruiting School, Sniper School, and Heavy Weapons Infantry School.

Today, Bacon is recognized as one of the nation’s leading advocates for veterans’ affairs. He currently travels across the United States speaking on homeland security and military topics.
