Wayne Morris


Wayne is the Director of Security for the Joint Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, NC. He retired from the U.S. Army in 2001 after a 20 year career. Wayne began his army career with a four year assignment with the 82nd Airborne Division. After this assignment, the remaining sixteen years of his career included assignments to various special operations units including the 7th Special Forces Group, the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and Schools, and the United States Army Special Operations Command. Beginning in 1995, Wayne's military duties went from conducting typical Special Forces operations and training to performing Operational Security and Force Protection operations. Holding the positions of Force Protection Operations Sergeant and Force Protection Operations Sergeant Major, Wayne ensured security needs were met for elements of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command.

Wayne continues his career with the army as a civilian. From 2001 to 2009, he was responsible for the physical security and force protection of the Joint Special Operations Command's personnel and facilities, Fort Bragg. In 2009, Wayne was promoted to the Director of Security. Serving in this capacity today, he is currently responsible for all security disciplines within the Command. These include physical security, force protection, personnel security, industrial security, and information security. Additionally, he is responsible for the security relationship between the Joint Special Operations Command and Fort Bragg's Garrison Command. He is a member of the installation's Protection Executive Committee, Threat Fusion Cell, Emergency Management Working Group, and other installation-level committees.

Wayne is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and holds the certifications of Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP). He is a member ASIS's Physical Security Council, Education Sub-committee. Since joining the ABCHS, Wayne has worked as a member of the Curriculum Review Committee and Editorial Review Board. Currently, Wayne is a member of the ABCHS Executive Advisory Board and Exam Development Committee. He is a graduate of many army leadership, special operations and security schools.
